These Tanjore or Tanjavur Bommai Dancing Dolls are not only pretty dancing figurines, but also the symbols of Southern India’s history of craftsmanship and culture. The intricate details and vibrant colors make this dancing doll a true masterpiece.

These Dancing Dolls are handmade from a mix of wood pulp/paper mache, clay, plaster of paris and tapioca flour. This doll stands tall and is made up of 4 parts, the Feet, Skirt, Bust/Torso & the Head. They can be easily assembled to balance on each part, and it stands up to 11 inches in height. This dancing doll oscillates for more than 20 seconds once nudged slightly. With every movement, it tells a story of tradition, rhythm, and timeless beauty.
